entry in the database. I still need help with most of the existing band entries
too, of course, as many need correcting and expanding, but the bands listed below
have no entry at all at the moment, or only a skeletal one.
I need basic
bio info about these bands. If you remember anything about any of them, then

Played The Magnet a couple of times as well as support slots at McGonagles. Covered Hendric and AC/DC among others. Ahead of their time as far as Cavan is concerned. Phelim Cox (lead vocals), Paul Myers (lead guitar), Jim Dunne (lead guitar), Martin McCleary (bass), Paul Cox (drums) Paul Myers and Martin McCleary formed Tapestry [with Gerry Henderson (vocals) & Malachy O'Brien (drums)] who were very popular in the midlands throughout the 80s. When they folded, Paul Myers emigrated to Canada. Jim Dunne became a highly qualified studio technician working in all the major studios in Dublin and beyond. Blues Ark -- from Kilkenny, punk rock, with drummer John MacCormack later of Belsonic Sound. Bodies Move -- c1980, from Cabra, Dublin, played The Magnet a.o, drummer joined Jump Iceland. Later became Mouzhik Strap Bone Idol -- Appeared on the Live at Mojo's LP (1989) Boneshakers -- Dave Finnegan's band in 1985, Cramps/psychobilly style. Ann Redmond later worked with Paul Weller? Skully formed Metisse in 1997. Cheeky Pigs -- from Ardee, Co.Louth; four piece including Peter Duff, who managed the Bogey Boys. The Circus -- duo from Malahide, recorded 3-song demo tape at Chrome Yellow's Lada Studios c1988 Clamy Domonas -- Cork, c1980, playd with Nun Attax and pre- Microdisney Constant Reminders Clark's Gable -- A duo active in the late 80s and early 90s in Dublin. Recorded a 4-5 song demo tape in the late 80's called "The Meter On Your Bed" (a Leonard Cohen reference apparently) consisting of darkish synth pop, pretty good at the time, with good lyrics. Takapuna [Cork] -- c1986 band, similiar to The Waterboys, later known as The Gems(?) Talk To Strangers -- 1987 - Dublin Joe Staunton - guitar Peter Fitzpatrick - keyboards & backing vocals. Pat Courtney - bass & vocals Brian Downey - drums The Alleycats became Talk To Strangers in 1987 with Peter Fitzpatrick on keyboards. For a short time Joe Staunton was replaced by Dave O'Toole on guitar.
A demo was recorded (pre Fitzpatrick) and there are live tapes in circulation (including one recorded at Morans Hotel). The group played extensively around Ireland and performed some Thin Lizzy material but was primarily a blues outfit playing British Blues of the late 60s in the style of John Mayall, Fleetwood Mac etc. They had a long running residency in Slatterys of Capel Street. One evening Gary Moore sat in with the band playing 'Parisienne Walkways' and some blues standards. Brian Downey called on the services of Pat Courtney and Peter Fitzpatrick for a one-off Thin Lizzy reunion with Eric Bell in the now demolished-for-progress New Inn.
