Bio:
Dublin-based post-punk/pop band fronted by Barry Moore (b.1955) who is better
known since 1987 as Luka Bloom. With George Sweeney, ex Vipers.
Moore had already recorded as a solo artist before forming Red Square.
Red Square were "one of 5000 bands in Dublin
trying to become the next U2". Red Square recorded at least one session for Dave
Fanning's radio show including the following tracks: "Street Fight", "Trains", "Soweto".
Barry Moore's official website doesn't mention Red
Square explicitly but it offers an exclusive CD called "The Barry Moore Years"
which compiles recordings from 1975-1986. All appear to are taken from his solo
recordings pre-Red Square records except for two previously unreleased tracks,
but these these are unlikely to be by Red Square. In 1987 Moore went to the US
and became Luka Bloom.
