The Boy The Boy

From: Sligo

Active: 1986-90

Style:

Lineup:

Bio:

Formed in 1986 and originally called Sid & The Stonecrushers, the band changed their name to The Boy The Boy the following year (I prefer Sid amp; the Stonecrushers, at least it means something). Sweeney and Harte had previously been in Absolute Zero.

The Boy The Boy were reputedly a Buzzcocks influenced post-punk guitar band who had one great EP in them. But did they record it?

They were Carling/Hot Press runners-up in 1988 but had split by 1990. Sean Sweeney, Martin Harte and Absolute Zero vocalist Joe Hunt then formed Diesel Heart (1991-94); Harte and Hunt then formed Indian (1995-) with ex Mama's Boys guitarist Pat McManus.
