Originally known as The Lost Sound, a mid-60s pop/beat band. The Impulse have the distinction of being the first band to record at Trend Studios, set up by John D'Ardis and John Kane, a friend of John Tait-Doak. They recorded two covers "Dear Eloise" (The Hollies) and "Hey Little Girl" (The Syndicate of Sound) Paul Duffy plays piano on the latter. The band played relief gigs for showbands. Paul Myers left when he refused to contribute to the purchasing of a PA! Ray Phillips joined on lead guitar. The band split in wake of the leaving cert in 1969.
