Aonghus McAnally

From: Dublin?

Active: 70s/80s
Style: Guitarist

Bio:

Aonghus McAnally was lead guitarist with Mushroom. He is the son of actor Ray McAnally.

After Mushroom split, Aonghus joined the Starband who he left to from Crackers (later The Crack). He also fronted his own Max Band. He still performs on occasion. He played acoustic versions of a couple of Mushroom hits on a Horslips special on TnaG when Horslips released their DVD.

He co-presented Anything Goes on Saturday morning TV in Ireland (RTE) in the late 1970s and early 1980s, including a guitar tuition section, and has worked as a presenter for RTE for a number of years. His brother Conor also worked in RTE and formed a highly successful TV production company which seemed to corner the "youth" TV market in the UK for several years (Zig & Zag, etc).
