Jim Power & Taurus

From: IRL

Active: 1978

Style: Powerpop/pubrock

Lineup:

Bio:

Jim Power & Taurus released a lone single in June 1978. It's well worth tracking down for the A-side which is Powerpop. The B-side is pubrock. Both tracks were written by Norman Teeling who was involved in the music scene in Dublin from the 1960s into the mid-1980s before concentrating on his career as an artist. Jim Power is not a Teeling pseudonym BTW, as the dedication on the copy shown below suggests [Vincent, many thanks. Compliments, Jim]. Jim Power played with various bands in the UK and got the odd gig in the Magnet Bar from John Scarry. Scarry introduced him to Teeling. Jim set up his own label and paid for everything to get the single released but then he seemed to just disappear. I can find no details about the rest of the lineup for the recording. Teeling released solo material on his own label and on Phaeton Records.
