Cry Before Dawn in 1989
Bio:
Anthemic U2-style rock mixed with traditional music elements. Tony Hall was classically
trained while Brendan Wade came from a traditional music background. Not really my
cup of tea I have to admit (though "Victorians" is a fantastic track), so
for a full band history and discography I recommend visiting the excellent
fan site listed below.
Guitarist Tony Hall left the band sometime before the end. His place was taken
by Paul Spencer and Steve Belton (of The Fountainhead).
Singer Brendan Wade later formed a duo with Paul Bell of Zerra 1
called Wild Swans, despite the Liverpool band of the same name being still
warm in the grave, which they later shortened to Swans, which must've
pleased Michael Gira.
The discography below omits several Irish pressings on Epic. If anyone can sort out
the Irish discography anomolies for me, I'd be very happy to reproduce them here.
This discography consists of the basic UK CBS discography plus the self-released debut
single which is somewhat hard to find and is prized by fans.
2010 Update: CBD were recently heard on Ian Dempsey's show 'murdering'
Gone Forever. Is a reunion immiment? The 80s are well and truly back in Ireland.
