Bio:
Barry Moore (b.1955) is the younger brother of Christy Moore. He recorded as
a solo artist for several years and fronted a rock band called Red Square
in the mid-80s (1983-86). When success eluded them -- or perhaps he was simply tired of being referred to
as Christy Moore's younger brother -- Barry went to the USA where he changed his name to Luka Bloom,
in 1987. It took a few years for the new name to 'take' in Ireland but as Luka Bloom Barry's international career
seemed to take off, and he has sustained a highly successful recording career ever since.
Luka Bloom's official website offers an exclusive CD called "The Barry Moore Years"
which compiles recordings from 1975-1986 but omits the Red Square
recordings. All tracks are taken from his solo recordings pre-Red Square records
except for two previously unreleased tracks.
