Aiken Drum

From: Finglas

Active: 1985-86

Style: Electro Pop

Lineup:

Bio:

Electro pop synth trio from Finglas with Martin McCann's distinctive vocals. The band was active during 1985-86. Pat and David Morrissey are brothers.

Aiken Drum appeared on the Street Carnival Rock EP released in 1986 with "The Hearing" (which is the correct title of the song sometimes referred to as "Respectable Man"). Other originals included "The Real Me". They also used to do a cover of Johnny Nash's "I Can See Clearly". There are undoubtedly more recordings ("Laura", "Penny By Penny"). There may also be at least one other single... if anyone has the details please get in touch.

Martin McCann was later in Lord John White who became Sack. Pat Morrissey became an audio engineer at a studio located in Christchurch Cathedral. Dave Morrissey later played keyboards with A House.
