Billy Brown

From: N.IRL

Active:

Style: Pop

Lineup:

Bio:

Ex leader of The Freshmen, the Northern Irish showband from the late 60s who released the totally over-rated novelty punk single "You've Never Heard Anything Like it" in 1979. "Look What Jerry Lee Did To Me" is more of the same, another novelty record complete with fake cockney accent (again) and this time round Tchaikovsky samples. Less catchy than the Freshmen single, yet more irritating. Described variously as "powerpop" and more recently (and ludicrously) as "synth" on ebay. Caveat emptor! I'm probably overly critical of these singles because I detest novelty records.

Billy Brown was a highly respected musician. He released solo records on various labels during the 1970s.
