Tinopeners

From: Belfast

Active: May 1977-1981

Style: Powerpop

Lineup:

Bio:

Powerpop. The Tinopeners recorded four tracks for a planned single on Rip Off which never materialised. Two of these tracks were issued as a single on Logo Records (who manufactured and distributed Rip Off) in 1979. At that time, Logo was reputedly a terrible [as in badly organized] label, and stock copies of the single appear to be rarer than demo copies these days, even though 3000 copies were reputedly sold. The label reads "Produced by George Doherty at Hyde Park Studios. A Rip Off Production."

Phil McClelland was later replaced by Bill Reid. A second single was recorded but never released.
